Competition
The RSSOC was formed in 1972 and with the support of Reliant was approved by Motorsport UK to conduct sprints, hillclimbs and race meetings. The RSSOC was affiliated to Motorsport UK and the club held its first championship in 1973.

Since 1973, RSSOC has continued to be very successful in promoting motorsport and preserving the heritage of racing Reliant cars at sprint, hillclimb and circuit venues across the country. At its peak, some events would see as many as forty RSSOC members competing in their Sabres and Scimitars.

In recent years, the RSSOC competition members have joined the Classic Marques Sports Car Club (CMSCC). CMSCC arranges a very comprehensive competition calendar for its members which allows RSSOC members to compete in both the Classic Marques Speed Challenge (CMSC) and the Scimitar Sabre Speed Championship (SSSC).

Some RSSOC members choose to compete in other club’s championships but these are not aligned with the SSSC, the annual Sprint and Hillclimb Championship for Reliant and Middlebridge sports cars.
If you want a taster, test days are run at Curborough in August prior to ScimFest.

Reliants and Middlebridges are eligible to compete in the Scimitar Class of the Classic Marques Speed Challenge (CMSC).
